Hooray! Today is Becky's birthday!
She has been with me longer than anyone else. She started out working by my side in my basement sewing room, sharing my laptop and bumping elbows with me.
I had always done every single thing myself and she jumped right in and taught me to trust her resourcefulness and work ethic, and I was able to start letting go of things so that goodmama could grow and better serve our customers. I could not have asked for a better first employee and every day I consider myself lucky to have her.
She took over what used to be the coal room in my basement, we called
it her office. She was a trooper and put up with spiders, my four kids
interrupting her, my working in a towel or robe on hectic mornings, and working in the
general chaos that was my house plus the business.
Later we moved her upstairs and she worked in my living room, often doing her tasks with Dora on the tv, a wooden train snaking around the room, kids fixing themselves snacks, and diapers everywhere. She was always a good sport and found the humor in all of it.
She also has babysat my kids on several occasions, something I will always be grateful for! My children adore her and her wonderful husband Josh.
When we moved the business into our own little dedicated location, Becky worked her tail off getting everything ready to move and organized once it got here. She supervises all shipping and keeps the nitty-gritty day-to-day in and out of diapers going smoothly.
Becky has just recently been put in charge of wholesale orders, and is already doing an excellent job.
Becky has always taken all her responsibilites seriously and has always gone the extra mile to do the best possible job for me and for you.
She also is a self-starter and if I am working from home or not in the office for some reason, I never, ever have to worry that things are not getting done. Becky doesn't work because the boss is in the office. Becky works because that is her job, and she works until things are done.
Another great thing about Becky is that she sews! In the time that I have known her she has made several awesome projects, and has experimented with dyeing. All of her projects are super cute and very inventive.
If you haven't met Becky in person she has the best laugh ever. It's infectious and happy and I love hearing it. I'm so glad to know her, happy to share her with you, and wish her the very, very happiest of birthdays!!!
