Some of the new velours. We got stronger and brighter thread. They look fantastic!
Right now we have eighteen velours: red, rust, purple, lavender, hot pink, berry, baby pink, marigold, pumpkin, teal, lime, bright blue, baby blue, chocolate, navy, butterscotch, peach and spring green.
That's an even eighteen. I feel like if we add another color we'll have to add five more after that to make an even twenty four. Or am I the only one who thinks this way?
Edit: Oh no! I just remembered I forgot one. Black tie! So we have nineteen. Time to pick five more colors!
Look what came in the mail today! I literally checked my mail seven
times before they finally arrived. I haven't stalked my mailbox like
that in a while!
Here's a preview:
Socks for me! A Christmas gift from my friend Carrie at knitbytigs.com. Seriously, are these not the most amazing socks you have ever seen?
You can see other things she has knitted for me on her website as well. I wear that shrug so often I have to make a conscious effort not to wear it, I love it so much.
She knitted 99% of Hazel's wool and still does custom work on an extremely limited basis. She is the hyena knitter of hyena knitters -- as, impossible to get a slot. Seriously, if you ever see any of her stuff up for resale, GRAB IT. You won't be sorry.
But lucky me, these socks were a gift, and what a gift they are. Look!
The yarn is Lorna's Laces, the color is Child's Play and the pattern is Monkey from knitty.com. (You knew you wanted to know.)
I'm already fantasizing about yarn for more socks. Do you have any favorite awesome patterns? Link me! I need ideas.
However, I do have a serious problem.
What am I going to do with my feet while these are in the wash? I don't want to take them off. EVER.
This is the cleanest my desk has been in a long, long time. It was so clean I had to take a picture! It's a repurposed door, see where the hinges were? My dad gave this to me one year for a sewing table. I have another one at counter height for cutting. I am so spoiled with the counter space.
The reason my desk is finally clean is because I finally have help. Between having help and getting the new shipping station all set up, I can breathe again. It's wonderful to not be buried by the shipping and have to stay up all night filling packages. Becky is so good, she has been shipping same day! It's hard to top that.
We finally have our new snap presses operating smoothly and are working hard to put snaps on all the diapers that were waiting to be done. We had hemp fleece on backorder for a long time and it just arrived today. It will probably be cut early next week.
I have lots of products I have been planning on doing for a very long time, that I will do this year. Every new thing takes more capital to develop and get supplies for, so things take a while. I am very excited though!
